1. Sleek Knot

A sleek knot is a neat hairstyle that makes you look sexy and in control.

How to do it: A sleek knot parted down the middle never fails to catch the eye and give you control over the heat either.

Accessories: Long earrings and shades will help you make a statement with a sleek knot.

2. Braided Crown

Milkmaid braids are the in-thing in 2020. It looks like a little wreath on the top of your head.

How to make one: Adding some texture or waves to your hair before making a braided crown helps. The Philips curling iron is a good choice and is quite affordable.

The entire process should take nor more than five minutes.

Accessories: Nothing.

3. Stacked Buns

If you have long, thick hair that you want to get under control during the summer, make a bun in the center of your head and make a bun. Then make a couple more and place them at the nape of your neck.

Other Summer Hairstyles – A Lengthier Approach

If you’re seriously considering doing something extra with your hair this summer, oomph up your hairstyles with a more detailed approach. These hairstyles might take up 15 to 20 minutes of your day to pull off, and some patience. However, practice makes perfect. And if your incorporate these summer hairstyles into your routine, maybe you can become something of a stylist yourself.

1. Pigtail Braids

The little-girl braids are back! The point is to make two French braids on either side of your head.

How to French braid: step by step

STEP 1

Take some hair at the top and separate it into three equal sections left, middle and right.

STEP 2

Take the left section, cross it over the middle one and combine it with the right section.

STEP 3

Take right section, cross it over the middle and combine it with the left section.

STEP 4

And again, take the left section and cross it over the middle one, combining it with the right section…and you’ve mastered the technique! Add more hair from the right, cross it over the middle. Add more hair from the left, cross it over the middle, and continue this pattern all the way down.

STEP 5

Once you reach the nape of your neck, bring your hair to one side and finish off with a three strand braid.

2.  Scarf Braid

Entwine your braid with a colorful scarf and run the scarf through the braids occasionally.

According to hairstylist and Amika global artistic director Naeemah LaFond, that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. “Take the opportunity to embrace your natural texture,” she says.

How to do it

Just put your hair up and let your curls be wild and free. That’s all.

4.  Sporty Braid

Add a sporty edge to a classic braid by pulling your hair into a high pony before braiding. To get that really sleek look, LaFond advises that you apply a strong-hold pomade like Amika’s Haute Mess Texture Gloss or Heist Molding Blend, and then wrap a scarf around your hairline and the base of your pony.

Accompaniments: It looks really cool contrasted with a lacy dress.

5.  Double Braids

A Dutch double braid takes 10 minutes to do.

Method:

Step 1: Separate your hair into three even sections.

Step 2: Make a Dutch braid by braiding the sections in a “left under, right under” pattern, weaving the left piece of hair under the center piece, then right piece under the center, grabbing and adding small sections of hair each time as you go.

Step 3: Add hair from your roots as you continue down the back of your head. Secure with a hair-elastic.

Make two of these and you’re good to go. This hairstyle takes a bit of practice, but it’s totally worth it.

6.  Bubble Braids

Just “bubble” your ponytails instead of braiding them. Group your ponytail in small sections with thin elastics, and then tug at each section. A few tendrils can make it look natural.
